Short List

I've been told to always cite my sources unless I want to be banned from reading or writing anything ever again and kept locked in a little cave somewhere in northern Canada.  I try to cite my sources in the original posts, but I thought it would be a good idea to point out some of the main people and groups who have influenced my thinking.  Added bonus:  a nice compact list of cool people to check out!

The Skeptics' Guide to the Universe - A weekly podcast covering science and skepticism.  Quite excellent!  

Skeptoid - Another weekly science podcast, led by Brian Dunning

Richard Wiseman's many books, videos, articles, and blogs - Richard Wiseman is a psychologist that works with the quirky sides of human nature, such as luck, humor, and illusions.

Penn and Teller - Magicians-turned-skeptics with a great sense of humor

James Randi - "The Amazing Randi" is also a magician-turned-skeptic.  The James Randi Educational Foundation works on teaching critical thinking.

The Skeptics Society and Skeptic Magazine - Pretty much what the name sounds like, a magazine focused on uncovering the truth about psychics, aliens, and the like, led by the fearless Michael Shermer.

The New York Skeptics and the New England Skeptical Society - Two groups that organize the Northeast Conference for Science and Skepticism (NECSS) every year.  The event is fantastic!

George Hrab - Host of the Geologic podcast and a skeptical rock musician (in both senses of the phrase - that's right, skepti-rock exists).

I know there are a ton more I could list, but hopefully this will suffice to keep me from being locked in small, dark caves for a while.  These guys are all pretty cool, so check them out when you can!
